Phoenix, AZ – April 1- The Annual Soul West Fest takes place over a 3 day weekend to bring creators, diverse viewers and the film and music industry together for a look at todays most innovative urban filmmakers and musicians of our time.

Soul West Fest is an Arizona LLC whose mission is to promote and support Urban Films and Filmmakers, Soul Music, Urban Culture and Education. Our non-profit, Soul West Fest Foundation (SWFF) in association with Pathways to the World, Inc. raise scholarship funds for youth (grades 6-12) to attend film and music camps. SWFF continues to bring awareness and initiate programs for the arts in education and financial literacy.

The event is a gathering for the new age of information and storytelling that brings together visionaries across the industries and diverse audiences. Soul West Fest champions emerging and established voices, showcasing award-winning urban films and filmmakers, soul music, culture and new technology through premieres, exhibitions, talks and live performances.

During 3 days, famous musicians and legendary artists will perform on stage with up and coming filmmakers showing their content to a niche audience. Soul West Fest will grow to a nationally recognized festival of public performances by world-renowned musicians and filmmakers.

Film and Music Submissions will open April 1 for all sections of the festival  - feature and short films, Music Videos, Web Series and the Soul West Fest Audience Award. Filmmakers can submit a film for consideration via SoulWestFest.com, Vimeo, Youtube, Email Web Links, or FilmFreeway.

Deadlines to submit projects for Soul West Fest are as follows:

·     April 1 – Submission Open

·     July 31 –Deadline for features, short films, minis and web series submissions.

·     September 1 - Notification of Selected Films

·     3rd Week of October – Annual Soul West Fest
